Dr. Nadeem ul Haque, Member Board of Directors, DTCE
Dr. Nadeem ul Haque is currently Director, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad. He did his M.A Economics (1980) and PhD (1986) from the University of Chicago, Chicago Illinois.

He remained Trade Policy Advisor to the Minister of Commerce, Government of Pakistan from August 2005 to date. He has been a senior resident representative of the IMF in Egypt and Sri Lanka..... More

In Egypt he worked closely with the authorities and IMF headquarters to move the policy reform agenda forward. He co-organized with the Egyptian Bankers' Institute a high level conference on bank restructuring for Egyptian and Pakistani bankers in July 2004. Also initiated a two-year high level training program in collaboration with USAID, Egyptian Banking Institute, and several academics for Egyptian financial sector participants.

As a Senior Resident Representative of the IMF in Sri Lanka he initiated and successfully led a Central Bank modernization project in Sri Lanka, which involved downsizing, reorganizing, and retraining workers and reform of the monetary policy process and framework. In particular, was the initiating member and architect of Deregulation Committee, Financial Market Reform Committee and Chambers-Academia Round Table for Education Reform. To ensure success of the reform efforts in Sri Lanka, he also conducted highly successful public dialog with civil society.

Dr. Nadeem has written three books and over 50 papers in academic and policy journals.
