Mrs. Nilofer Bakhtiar is a
renowned social and political activist and has a twenty year experience,
national and international activism and commands leadership of the poor
and marginalized communities. She has, during the past two decades,
devoted herself to the cause of gender justice and empowerment and has
earned a place for herself at the highest forums of civil society and
governance. Presently, she is Federal
Minister for Tourism. Mrs. Nilofer Bakhtiar is known for her
communication skills in English & Urdu and is one of the most sought
after public figures for print and electronic media. As a senior member
of the Prime Minister's Cabinet, she has worked extensively on gender
equality, violence against women and regional cooperation among SAARC
countries. She has hosted several national and international conferences
including UN Conference on MDGs and has the honour of leading Pakistan
on several UN forums and Non Aligned Conference. |
