Mr. Daniyal Aziz

Mr. Daniyal Aziz is son of Anwar Aziz Chaudhry; Ch. Anwar Aziz had served as the Federal Minister for Food and is a famous politician in Punjab. Mr. Daniyal Aziz belongs to Gujjar family of Shakargarh.
Education:
He holds BA and MA Degrees from Boston University USA. Mr. Aziz is an Economist by specialization and lectures regularly at Trinity College Oxford.
Career:
Mr. Daniyal Aziz is the Chairman DTCE's Board of Directors. He has played the role of a pioneer in evolving the process, structure, policies and implementation of devolution dimensions in Pakistan and brings with him a vast expertise in adding value to DTCE vision and mission. Mr. Daniyal Aziz is the Former Chairman of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB), a pioneer in restructuring governance institutions in Pakistan

He was elected as Member District Council, Narowal in 1991. He was elected twice to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Shakargarh in District Narowal in 1997 and then again in 2002.

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh

Dr. Sheikh has over 25 years experience in policymaking and management. During 2000-2002 he served in the Sindh Government as Minister for Finance, Planning and Development. He remained country head of the World Bank in Saudi Arabia and also led assignments and advised more than 18 countries of Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa as a senior World Bank official. Some of these countries include Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Romania, Czech Republic, Argentina, Bangladesh, Jordan, Qatar, Malta, Botswana, Tanzania and Ghana. Before joining the World Bank, he worked at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He holds Ph. D in economics and authored many publications including a book on ‘Argentina’s Privatization’. He also led the teams for successful privatization in many countries in the field of telecommunication, electricity, transport, aviation, banking and manufacturing.

Dr. Hafeez Sheikh had a highly successful tenure as Minister for Finance, Planning & Development in Sindh Province. He was the architect of the financial recovery of Sindh, restoring financial discipline and reducing taxes, increasing revenues, paying over Rs. 20 billion of old bills, clearing the over draft of State Bank of Pakistan of Rs. 11 billion, increasing allocation for poverty alleviation, social sector and development, and enhancing relationship of Sindh Government with international donor agencies.

His two years as the Federal Minister for Privatization & Investment has been the most successful in Pakistan’s history. 18 transactions worth Rs 50 billion have been completed in a transparent fashion in banking, energy and manufacturing sector. Using the slogan of “Privatization for the People” shares in several companies have been given to 0.4 million people, creating broad ownership for the privatization program. Transactions in telecom, electricity and oil distribution have been brought to an advanced stage of completion. The period has also seen a doubling of FDI and an unprecedented increase in domestic investment.

He is currently serving as Minister for Finance in the present government set up of Mr. Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and member board of directors Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment.

Mr. Omar Ayub Khan

Omer Ayub Khan was born on January 26, 1970 to an influential [[Hindko] but from a pashtun tareen] speaking political family, is former Minister of State for Finance. He was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from constituency NA-19 Haripur from PML (Q).
Education:
Omar Ayub received his early education from Army Burn Hall College and high schooling from Aitchison College. He received his Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University, making him one of the few political figures in Pakistan with an educational background relevant to their field of work.
Career:
Omar Ayub khan is currently director of Director of Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment. His professional experience includes serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of software and business companies. He was the Parliamentary Secretary for Finance and a member of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF), Pakistan.

Omar Ayub Khan has also been nominated to the World Economic Forum's 2007 and was selected from a pool of over 4000 candidates worldwide. He is one of 250 leaders recognized for their professional accomplishments, their commitment to society and their potential to contribute in shaping the future of the world, and was selected from a pool of over 4000 candidates worldwide.
Family:
Omar Ayub Khan’s father, Gohar Ayub Khan, is the former Foreign Minister of Pakistan and his grandfather, Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan, was the president of Pakistan from 1958-1969.

He is the son-in-law of former federal minister Anwar Saifullah Khan and his wife is a grand-daughter of former Pakistani President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.

Ms. Shehnaz Wazir Ali

Ms. Shahnaz Wazir Ali is the Executive Director of the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), in Islamabad , Pakistan . The Centre was established in late 2001 to support and promote philanthropy in Pakistan , with the specific objective of enhancing development and promoting social investment. As Executive Director, Shahnaz Wazir Ali is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, managing and implementing PCP's program of activities; recruiting, developing and leading a team of professionals for delivering PCP's programs, institutionalizing systems and building capacity; seeking and ensuring appropriate resources (financial, institutional) for PCP's various support service programs, policy work and the research agenda.
 
Before becoming the Executive Director in 2001, she served for 3 years as the Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank. Her principal assignment there was to provide technical advice and assistance to the Provincial/Area and Federal governments to facilitate the implementation of the Education Sector Social Action Program (SAP). She also worked for 2 years as the Education Specialist in the SAP Multi-Donor technical Support Unit administered by the World Bank.

From 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996, she had the unique opportunity to serve in key decision making positions in government, in the first term as Member of the National Assembly and Minister of State for Education in the Federal Government and subsequently, in the second term, as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sectors. Some of her major contributions made to the Social Development agenda include the conceptualization, design, plan and strategy of the Primary Health Care and Family Planning Program (most commonly known as the Lady Health Workers Program), the establishment of the National Literacy Commission, National Polio Immunization Campaigns, the convening of a Muslim Women Parliamentarians Group and Conference, the establishment of the National Education Foundation and Support to Community Schools, introduction of autonomy for tertiary hospitals, and the promotion of public-private partnerships in the education sector.

Her career in and commitment to education can be traced back to 1965, when she commenced teaching primary school children of deprived communities in Karachi, and subsequently spent about 15 years in teaching and administrative positions in the private sector, which include Principal at the Lahore American School. She is also a Trustee of the Education Trust which runs 4 Nasra Schools for children for low-income families in Karachi and provides K – 10 education to 10,000 students.

Ms. Wazir Ali holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas , USA and also a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Trenton College , New Jersey , USA . In addition, she has a Diploma in Principal's Certification from Harvard University , Cambridge , USA . Her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication is from the American University , Washington , D.C. All her basic schooling has been in Pakistani schools in Rawalpindi and Karachi .

Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar

Hina Rabbani Khar was born on January 19, 1977 in Multan. She is daughter of politician Malik Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar and niece of renowned politician Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar.
Education:
She graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Lahore University of Management Sciences in 1999, and received her M.Sc. degree in management from University of Massachusetts, U.S.A in 2001.
Career:

Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar is currently Federal Minister of state for Finance and Economics Affairs and director of Devolution trust for Community Empowerment. She has been elected for her first term as MNA. She is politically affiliated with PML(Q). She was the first woman to present the budget speech in national assembly on 13 June, 2009.
She remained with the Shaukat Aziz government as the financial advisor, and then she changed parties before elections and joined the PPP, and now acts as the advisor to the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Hina Rabbani Khar is among 245 leading executives, public figures and intellectuals in the world to be recognized for her professional contributions and accomplishments in shaping the future of the world.

Hina Rabbani Khar remained Pakistan’s State Minister for Economic Affairs. The State Ministers report directly to the Prime Minister and hold specific portfolios. In Hina’s case, she was responsible for international (multilateral and bilateral) grants and loans. Her Ministry’s the official signatory for any project that is launched in Pakistan with foreign financial assistance. Her father, Ghulam Rabbani Khar, drove Hina into politics, setting her on a different path from the hotel management career she had been pursuing with great zeal. She is a co-owner of the Polo Lounge, an upscale, popular restaurant located on the Lahore Polo Grounds.


Dr. Nadeem ul Haque

Dr. Nadeem-ul-Haque wrote books and articles regarding financial markets, economic analysis etc. Some of them titled “Informal Financial Markets in Developing countries (With Peter Montiel and Pierre Richard Agenor). Basil-Blackwell 1993”, “Macroeconomic Models for Developing Economies. Ed. with Mohsin Khan and Peter Montiel. International Monetary Fund. August 1991” and “Fiscal Expenditures in Egypt ed. with Ahmed Galal Proceedings of a conference, forthcoming 2005” and many other.
Education:
Dr. Nadeem-ul-Haque holds degrees in M.A Economics (1980), PhD (1986) from the University of Chicago, Chicago Illinois and BSc Economics from London School of Economics, London (1974).
Career:
Dr. Nadeem-ul-Haque is currently working as Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and Director of Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE). He took charge of Trade Policy Advisor to the Minister of Commerce, Government of Pakistan in August 2005. He remained senior resident representative of IMF in Egypt and Sri Lanka. Mrs. Nilofer Bakhtiar

Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar was born in Bannu-NWFP on 9th September 1957. Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar, has indeed come a long way in social work. Her main thrust of work has been on the uplift of women, health and educational projects.
Education:
Her academia speaks volumes of her intellectually sound personality, which she possesses. After completing her high school from “Presentation Convent, Rawalpindi”, she eventually did her “Bachelors of Arts” from ‘Punjab University’ in 1976. Her bachelors earned her a Government Scholarship for a diploma in ‘Hotel Management and Tourism’ from ‘Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management, Salzburg, Austria’. After her diploma from Austria in 1977, she moved to ‘Cornell University, New York, USA’ for a summer term. Her intellectual appetite has always been driving her ambitions; she ended up joining “Carnegie Mellon University” for her ‘Masters in Public Administration on scholarship in 1986 funded by USAID.
Career:

Her political portfolio is rich and shining. She has served as Minister for Tourism in Shaukat Aziz government.. She joined Pakistan Muslim League in 1990. She was elected as a member of the Municipal Corporation and headed PML election campaigns in 1990, 1993, and 1997. She has remained member of Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting; Standing Committee on Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs and Tourism; Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs.

She is the former President of the Women's Wing of the Pakistan Muslim League in Rawalpindi. She was appointed as a member of the Central Working Committee in 1996. She serves on the board of numerous educational and civic bodies and Devolution Trust for Community for Empowerment is among one of them.

Major Achievements:

She has held the important offices in the Federal Cabinet, Government of Pakistan:
Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister In-charge, Women Development, Special Education and Social Welfare (2002-2006), Minister for Tourism (2006-2007), Ms. Bakhtiar was elected as a Senator, Government of Pakistan, for a six-year term (2006-2012). in July 27, 2009 The Senate has elected Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar as Chairperson Standing Committee on Tourism and Culture, while twelve senators as members.

She is Vice Chairperson of the International Red Cross Society in Pakistan, serving as Vice President of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi. and as Chairperson, NGO Bardaasht (Tolerance).

She has been appointed as Special Advisor to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) on Gender and Tourism. Nilofar Bakhtiar is pioneer of many legislations for women and she is actively working for the rights of the women.


Sardar Wazir Ahmed Jogazai

Sardar Wazir Ahmed Jogazai was born on January 16, 1942. He holds M.A. Degree and was twice elected as Member National Assembly one in 1977 and the second time in 1985.

He held various positions in government. He has served as Deputy Speaker National Assembly, besides that he has served as Minister for Water and Power, Education, Woman Development and held the portfolio of agriculture, forestry & fish.
